Monoscenes are scenes which take place in one location in real-time – that is, there are no sweeps or tag-outs, players either walk into the scene or walk out until the show is over.
Long scenes can be intimidating, for the players and in them and the players waiting in the wings to enter. With the approach in this workshop we’ll demystify them and make them fun to be a part of.
In this session we’ll look at:
- The basic structure of a monoscene
- Character motivation and relationships
- Knowing when to enter and when to leave
- Creating the illusions of edits by varying what is happening on stage
