In improv, performers are often trained to construct scenes efficiently, but not always to truly play and be affected as actors do. This workshop focuses on playing emotions sincerely — strongly or subtly — without “playing at” them or justifying them.
Through physical warm-ups, emotional scales, partner exercises, and group scenes, participants explore how to let emotions appear, grow, and shift while staying fully engaged in improvisation. The work emphasizes presence, listening, and impact, rather than performance or technique.
By reconnecting improvisation with acting skills, this workshop invites improvisers to play with more depth, commitment, and theatrical truth.
