Saturday 14:00-17:00 - Entry into Imagination: Draw, Move, and Write - Ellie Brewster
Entry into Imagination is an embodied approach to finding creative material when building a show. It offers the artists an opportunity to explore new ways of thinking around their themes and the different images they can develop when creating a show.
Throughout the workshop we will have discussions, draw, write and use movement to explore important questions that come up in response to a chosen theme.
We will shift between working individually and as a group, to see how the method can work simultaneously in different numbers. As a group we will support each other and ask questions to encourage the development of the idea.
We ask questions such as: where in the body does an image live? What colour/shape/texture does it have? With the material generated we will also consider how this can be applied to develop/devise shows and create work that speaks with our artistic voice, this workshop is specifically made as a safe space to be creative.
